Exquisitely carved and richly patinated, these boxwood clogs are simply stunning. Stylised stitchwork runs round the back and sides meeting in square buckles to the front. Having never had a lid it is clearly not a snuff box, so was probably intended as a love token. Please note small hairline crack to the heel of one shoe. French, circa 1800.
