Truncheon An unusual and very large painted truncheon, it is more like a war club! With hand painted Victoria crown to the top and a VR cipher to the middle and a heavily turned rope or cable motif between. This probably denotes its use by the river or ports police. On the sides of the cable is painted 'superintendent special constable'. Most unusual, I cannot find an example in any reference work. 49cm long G13.12 LKE SOLD If you are interested in this item please email mark@newsumantiques.co.uk or in the UK ring 079 6819 6668. |
