London street scene
A beautiful and highly detailed wood cut street scene of a view towards the British Museum. Dense with the exquisite details of everyday life from advertising hoardings, policemen, street cleaners, business men in bowler hats and post-war bomb damaged buildings. All rendered in a mute palette of black, white and mushroom tones. Though signed the artist is un-identified. I assume it dates from the late 1940s.
