Three Cenedese glass vases
A beautiful group of three frosted glass vases from the 'Scavo' range produced in Murano in the 1960s. In wonderful soft pastel green, yellow and pink like large chunks of Turkish Delight dusted with sugar.
Archaeological excavations at this time found heavily weathered and oxidised Roman glass. For these vases salt, sawdust and wood ash was thrown on the surface of the hot glass to give this antique look. The thermal shock employed in this technique causes some cracking within the matrix of the glass which is a feature of this range.
Each one is signed.
