Hanging cruise lamp

This is a rare four point hanging cruise lamp of substantial size, originating from Scotland or the north of England. The blacksmith forged ironwork features a hanging halberd hook suspending a two valve fat lamp. The inner valve terminates in a rams horn scrolled finial which is typical of Scottish examples.

In good original condition with a gently rusted surface and signs of soft wear throughout.
Late 18th century.

21cm high plus 12cm for the spike. Pan: 13cm by 13.5cm 'square'.
