An exceptional and large Swedish book box with sliding lid. The surface is covered with a fine matrix of chip carving and hints of original green paint with further red paint embellishment. There are owners initials 'RMS' and a date of 1810. In excellent condition and well patinated. Boxes of this size were often used to hold personal Bibles when going to church. 20 cm x 12 cm.
