Cheese mould

A spectacular large ​​dugout cheese mould of star shaped form set within a thick round block of birchwood. Weep holes to the base would allow the formation of a soft curd cheese that was a regular food accompaniment to the Scandinavian table. This one is Swedish and dates to the first half of the 19th century. L18.7 BEE. 27cm diameter.
