Eagle finial
A stately eagle carved fragment presumably intended as an architectural detail or finial. Sympathetically presented on an oak plinth the eagle stands on a darkened rock and retains an excellent original gilded finish. French or Italian, early 19th century. 22cm high (eagle), 27cm high with plinth, 18cm wingspan.
