Large snuff shoe

A large carved mahogany snuff shoe or heeled boot with scribed line decoration and black ebonised detail. The throat of the boot features a double row of nine eyelets which appear at some point to have held original laces. A minor graze to one side of the eyelets, see photos. 15cm long, 10cm high. French, 1875.
