Lignum mortar and pestle
A magnificent late 17th century Charles II period lignum mortar of balluster form with multiple ring turned decoration. The mortar has the best dark lignum colour and has developed a glassy patination. There is a small section of damage to the central disc turned decoration and the pestle is a sympathetic later 18th century addition.
19.5 cm high, 18cm diameter.
