Painted railway crest

An exceptional panel painted armorial sample featuring the crest and symbols for the London Brighton and South Coast Railway company. Pictured is a train and ship symbolising the London to Paris boat train either side of the city emblems for London, Brighton, Portsmouth and Hastings represented by the red dagger, boats and lion, dolphins and crescent star. Highly detailed and exquisitely hand painted throughout. Circa 1880.
