Scrimshaw whale tooth

A good and genuine scrimshaw tooth, depicting a woman in period dress and a huntsman with rifle. Both enlivened by red stained details and clearly visible are the small pricked dots used to trace out the design. Probably American, mid 19th century. 10.5 cm tall.
