Whalebone fid
A fabulous large whalebone fid richly patinated and heavily used. Retaining an original and undamaged fine point and traces of various owners stamps with scratch carved 'WG', a punched initial 'RP' and traces of a star motif to the handle. A piece of history in your hand! Probably English, early 19th century. 31.5 cm long.
